Ugandan Muslim leaders rally for unity as Hajj and Umrah season begins
Uganda, May 15 -- As preparations for the 2026 Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages officially kick off, prominent Muslim leaders in Uganda are calling for a renewed spirit of peace, discipline, and communal harmony. The call to action centers on bridging internal divides to foster national development and spiritual growth.
Speaking at the launch of a pioneering children's Umrah initiative in Kampala, Mr Rashid Yahya Ssemuddu, Uganda's Ambassador to Sudan and Special Presidential Envoy to Qatar, urged the faithful to look beyond personal and political grievances.
