Uganda, May 5 -- A Ugandan national, Mr Godfrey Sekisonge, is contesting for a borough council seat in the United Kingdom, seeking to represent Barking Riverside in upcoming local elections.
Mr Sekisonge, who also serves as deputy to the Kabaka's representative in the United Kingdom, is running under the Green Party ticket in polls seen as a key test of political strength across the country.
Voters across London's 32 boroughs are expected to elect councillors on May 7, who will shape leadership at local authority level and oversee essential public services.
According to Mr Sekisonge, councillors play a central role in managing services such as housing, schools, waste collection and council taxation.
