Uganda, April 19 -- Uganda is seeking to tap into Egypt's fast-growing tourism market through a series of partnerships aimed at increasing visitor numbers and promoting joint travel packages between the two countries.

The move comes as Egypt cements its position as Africa's leading tourism destination, recording a record 19 million visitors in 2025, while Uganda registered about 1.6 million international arrivals in the same year.

Officials say the strategy is to position Uganda as an extension of Egypt's tourism experience, targeting visitors already travelling to North Africa and encouraging them to add Uganda to their itineraries.
