Uganda, April 9 -- In a move to implement trade orders in the area, authorities in Nebbi municipality on Thursday evicted several traders operating along the streets, sending waves of emotions.

The exercise, which was manned by the municipal council and backed by the police, targeted makeshift structures and kiosks. Nebbi joins several cities and municipalities that have suffered similar fates countrywide.

The exercise, which started last month from Kampala City, is in line with a directive from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government.
