Uganda, May 8 -- Political tensions among leaders and supporters of the ruling NRM party are heating up in Kayunga District over who should be the party's flag bearer for the post of district Speaker.
The post has divided party loyalists into two camps. One group led by Mr Moses Karangwa, the district NRM chairperson who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Duties, is backing Mr Sula Seruwu, the Kangulumira sub-county district councilor.
The other camp, led by Mr Andrew Muwonge, the district chairperson, is backing Mr Michael Naada, the Kitimbwa sub-county district councilor and current district secretary for education.
