Tayebwa to EU Parliament: Stop meddling in our affairs
Uganda, May 8 -- The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, has rallied African legislators under the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, OACPS, to push back against what he described as increasing interference by the European Parliament in the internal affairs of African countries.
Mr Tayebwa, who also serves as OACPS president and co-president of the Joint Parliamentary Assembly, made the remarks during a meeting of the Eastern Africa Regional Parliamentary Group in Ezulwini Valley, Eswatini, saying African states deserve greater respect for their sovereignty.
