Uganda, April 21 -- A Grade One Magistrate's Court in Kaiti has sentenced a 24-year-old electoral tally clerk to 18 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to forging election results in Namutumba District.
On April 20, Magistrate Ambrose Mugweri handed the sentence to Marvin Kivunike, a tally clerk at the Electoral Commission in Namutumba and a resident of Namutumba B in Namutumba Town Council.
Kivunike was convicted on two counts of forgery under Sections 319 and 324 of the Penal Code Act, and one count of uttering a false document under Section 328.
