Uganda, April 19 -- The Supreme Court on Friday held a special sitting to honour former Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, marking the end of his tenure after reaching the constitutional retirement age.
A panel led by Chief Justice Flavian Zeija granted an application to formally recognise Dollo's service to the Judiciary, following a motion presented by Solicitor General Pius Biribonohwa.
In a ruling delivered by Lillian Tibatemwa Ekirikubinza, the court said Dollo's tenure was marked by significant institutional reforms, including expansion of judicial infrastructure, increased recruitment, and adoption of information technology.
