Uganda, May 9 -- Six people travelling to a wedding ceremony have died while three others sustained injuries following a fatal road crash that occurred on Saturday morning along the Maddu-Ssembabule Road in Gomba District.

The incident happened at about 5:00am at Lumonya village. It involved a Toyota Hiace taxi, which was transporting passengers from Ssembabule to Nakasongola District for a wedding ceremony.

SP Michael Kananura, the Public Relations Officer for the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, said the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to speeding, causing the taxi to overturn several times.
