Uganda, May 15 -- Six people have been charged and remanded over the death of a Congolese national who died in police custody in Kisoro.

The suspects appeared before Kisoro Chief Magistrate's Court on May 15, 2026 and were charged with two counts.

Two civilians, Hakizimana Mpumuseni and Nsabimana John Bosco, face murder charges under Sections 171 and 172 of the Penal Code Act Cap 128.

Four police officers, Musabyimana Wycliffe, Yebuze Morris, Kizito Appeti and Ndagijimana Emmanuel, were charged with being accessories after the fact to murder, contrary to Section 189 of the Act.
