Uganda, April 28 -- Farmers in Sembabule District have petitioned President Museveni over the management of a disputed goat breeding project, citing funding delays, alleged land grabbing attempts, and rising security concerns at the project site.
The development comes amid an ongoing investigation commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) into the status of the former ranchland and goat breeding centre located at Kakinga Village in Sembabule District.
The dispute has drawn in pastoralists and local politicians, who are accused of attempting to forcefully take over sections of the land on February 19, 2026, according to Paul Sembeguya, the current custodian of the estate.
