Uganda, May 16 -- Farming for income generation involves a number of activities. The first big concern for the farmer is to come up with good harvests. Big volumes of well grown crops are often a promise of high income.

If the farmers of the same crop live in one location and work in groups they will try as much as possible to increase the volumes by putting together their different harvests (bulking) in order to attract buyers and to set up an advantageous price for their commodity.

The group leaders will ensure that the products are well handled and presented in an attractive form. Cleanliness is one of the qualities that attract buyers. It is no use displaying commodities that are contaminated and bearing residues of pesticides.
