Security embarks on community dialogue to de-escalate violence in Apaa
Uganda, April 15 -- Following fresh violence in recent weeks that has caused injuries and deaths of some people in Apaa township, an area highly contested by the natives of Adjumani and Amuru districts, the security has embarked on community dialogue seeking to curb the incidents.
The peace initiative is being held jointly by Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) officers from the 501 Brigade under the 4 infantry division and the police.
Conflict in the area pit from boundary ownership of land measuring approximately 40 square meters between the two communities, dating back to 2012.
