Uganda, April 15 -- A group of scientists under their umbrella body, the National Union of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Workers' Uganda (NUPAPWU), have announced a countrywide strike that will commence in three months' time unless Parliament reconsiders some clauses of the National Drugs and Health Products Authority Bill, 2025 (NDHPA Bill).

In an April 15 statement seen by this publication, the scientists - who include pharmaceutical scientists, industrial chemists, microbiologists, and other science-based cadres - said they will lay down their tools if government, especially Parliament, does not consider their pleas.
