Uganda, May 14 -- Dozens of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party mobilizers in Rukungiri District have threatened peaceful demonstrations if the government fails to intervene in a dispute over Shs 200 million in unpaid campaign allowances.

The mobilizers, who were hired by Ms Peace Rugambwa-the Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture-to campaign for President Museveni and other party flag bearers during the 2026 General Election, claim their funds were released but subsequently swindled.
