Uganda, May 2 -- Kabucurera Elina, an 80-year-old woman originally from Kabale District, has recounted how she narrowly survived death after a boat carrying more than 35 passengers capsized on River Nguse on Tuesday evening.
Kabucurera explained that before the boat capsized at around 8pm, chaos broke out on the boat after some passengers, who were reportedly drunk, began causing disturbances.
She added that a confrontation between the sailor and the passengers created instability, leading to an imbalance that the boat could not recover from. Eventually, it capsized.
