Uganda, May 5 -- Hundreds of households living around Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve are finally accessing clean water at their doorsteps following the installation of 600 rainwater harvesting tanks, a move expected to reduce human-wildlife conflict.
For years, communities in these water-stressed areas have been forced to move to protected zones and the shores of Lake Albert in search of water, often risking attacks from crocodiles and other wildlife. But with the new tanks in place, residents can now harvest and store rainwater safely at home.
