Uganda, May 14 -- Pope Leo XIV has appointed Most Rev. Tomasz Grysa, Titular Archbishop of Rubicon, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda.He replaces Archbishop Luigi Bianco, who served as the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda since 2019, and was reassigned by the Pope in May 2025 to serve as the Nuncio to Slovenia and Apostolic Delegate to Kosovo.

"Until his appointment as Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, Rev Grysa has been Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar, Seychelles and the Republic of Mauritius, and Apostolic Delegate to Comoros and La Reunion," reads part of the statement from Rev. Fr. Georges Kwami Kouwonou who has been overseeing the affairs of the affairs of the Nunciature in Uganda ever since Archbishop Bianco was reassigned last year.
