Uganda, April 15 -- Police at Old Kampala Division have recovered an AK-47 rifle at Tausi Bus Terminal in Bukesa Parish, Kampala Central Division.

According to the Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP), SP Racheal Kawala, the incident occurred on April  14, 2026 at around 5am.

"It is alleged that a bus conductor, while loading passengers onto a bus destined for Mbarara, was approached by an unknown passenger who requested to have his luggage transported. In line with routine security checks, the conductor asked the passenger to open the bag for inspection, but he declined," said SP Kawala in a police statement on April 15, 2026.
