Police lock down Kololo roads ahead of Museveni swearing-in
Uganda, May 8 -- The Uganda Police has issued stringent security and traffic guidelines to the public and to all invited guests attending the presidential swearing-in at Kololo Independence Grounds.
Addressing the media in Kampala on May 8, 2026, Mr Kituuma Rusoke, the Police spokesperson, urged the public to collaborate with security to avoid embarrassment.
Mr Rusoke explained that specific routes leading to Kololo Ceremonial Grounds will be limited to the general public except for those with printed stickers.
The affected routes include; Kololo Upper and Lower roads, Wampewo Avenue (Hotel Africana stretch), and John Babiiha Road, commonly known as Acacia Avenue.
