Uganda, April 29 -- More than 30 people are feared dead after a boat they were travelling in capsized on the River Nguse in Kagadi district on Tuesday night at around 8:00 pm.

The dozens who are residents of Kyareeni Cell, Kamata Ward in Pacwa Town Council were still missing by press time, and a search for them was being conducted.

They were reportedly returning from home from Bugoma Forest, where they had been engaged in charcoal burning. River Nguse separates Kagadi and Kikuube districts.

As of this afternoon, Marine Police had arrived at the river to join the search efforts, and hundreds of residents and relatives of the suspected victims had pitched camp at the river to witness how the event would unfold.
