Uganda, May 6 -- The government has suspended the Nile Star Bus Company from transport services for 30 days following a road crash along the Arua-Karuma highway that left seven people dead and 13 injured on Tuesday night.

State Minister for Works and Transport, Mr Fred Byamukama, made the pronouncement on Wednesday, noting that the suspension starts on Wednesday at 6pm and will last 30 days.

''We can't allow this. You see the trend in one year, from May 2025 to May 2026, they have caused 11 lives 91 injuries; people are nursing injuries, we can't allow this, and that is why we have decided to go by that.'' The Minister said.
