Uganda, May 12 -- Uganda is set to get a new specialised hospital focused on eye and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) care, with construction due to start next month in Entebbe.

Health Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr Diana Atwine said the 100-bed Emirates Specialty Hospital will concentrate on ear, nose and throat conditions, ophthalmology, and later expand to maxillofacial, neurosurgery and spine surgery.

"This hospital is going to be concentrating on specialised areas of the eyes, the ENT, and also along the way we will also introduce other specialities like maxillofacial surgeries, neurosurgeries, spine surgery because we want to look at the head and neck," Atwine said, while speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday.
