Uganda, April 18 -- Masaka City Woman MP-elect Justine Nameere has filed her defence in a petition where her main challenger, Rose Nalubowa, seeks to have Nameere's victory set aside over alleged irregularities in a court-ordered vote recount.

Through her lawyers, M/s Ssekyewa, Matovu & Co. Advocates and Byenkya, Kihika & Co. Advocates, Nameere dismisses Nalubowa's claims that noncompliance with electoral laws and election irregularities substantially affected the outcome.
