Nakapiripirit residents trek 40km to access health services
Uganda, May 16 -- Residents of Moruita Sub-county in Nakapiripirit District are struggling to access health services, with some walking more than 40 kilometres to visit the nearest Moruita Health Centre II, which is the only government health facility in the area.
The situation is worse among those who are unable to hire motorcycles to transport them when in dire need.
Many described their daily hurdles as physically draining and often dangerous, particularly for pregnant mothers, children and those in critical conditions.
