Uganda, April 30 -- President Museveni on Thursday called for the review of the Protection of Sovereignty Bill, 2026, arguing that the legislation in its current form "meanders in the areas of the freedom of Private enterprise transfers or private money transfers or church donations."

The Protection of Sovereignty Bill, 2026 (Bill No. 13 of 2026) is a proposed law introduced to Parliament on April 15, 2026 in which, the government, claims its goal is to safeguard Uganda's national interests and self-governance by regulating foreign influence and funding.
