Uganda, April 22 -- A section of legislators have called for a deep probe into the death of their Kalangala counterpart Hellen Nakimuli, who died on Sunday after a failed surgery at Alexandra Medical Center.

The MPs, during a special sitting convened to honor the deceased's life, said their colleague's death raises questions on how she was handled.

Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo wondered how the entire exercise was conducted.

"There must be those things that must be explained. How does someone driving without a formal procedure of receiving a patient, having her admitted, check on everything before you operate that person. Where are the procedures in this country?" he questioned.
