Mpigi residents petition authorities over hotel noise pollution
Uganda, May 8 -- Residents of Prison Centre Ward C and Ward D in Mpigi Town Council have petitioned district authorities over escalating noise pollution allegedly caused by Lambert Hotel, raising concerns about the growing impact of entertainment venues on residential communities in Mpigi District.
In a petition addressed to local leaders, the residents accuse the hotel of playing loud music throughout the night, saying this has deprived residents of sleep and disrupted normal community life since the facility opened in June 2025.
According to the petition, loud music is played daily from 7pm until 6am, with residents describing the situation as unbearable, especially late in the night.
