Uganda, May 3 -- The Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Ms Judith Nabakooba, has urged families to prioritise early and proper land registration to reduce land-related conflicts.

Most Ugandan family members, especially children, often plunge into conflicts over land shortly after the death of their parents, with some cases spiralling into violence and evictions.

Ms Nabakooba says in many cases women are victimised with male children demanding they leave after the death of their husbands, a trend she described as dangerous and causing family breakdowns.
