Uganda, May 2 -- "Returning home is not the end of the journey. For many, it is the hardest chapter," Ms Sophia Amimo, the now founder of Domestic Workers Returnees of Kenya, said. Ms Amimo, a migrant returnee and now advocate, says those words capture the reality facing thousands of African workers who leave home in search of opportunity, only to return to uncertainty. She called for stronger protections, better access to information, and greater accountability for those who exploit migrant workers. "We are seeing progress. There are now training institutions, even in Kenya, preparing young women for jobs abroad. That is a step forward, but much more still needs to be done," she said.
