Uganda, April 22 -- Masaka District Woman Member of Parliament-elect, Joan Namutaawe of the National Unity Platform party has filed her defence at High Court in Masaka in response to an election petition seeking to have her victory overturned.National Resistance Movement (NRM)'s Joanita Nalule, a candidate who contested against Namutaawe filed the petition to have the election results set aside by the Court on allegations of electoral irregularities.In her defence, filed through her Lawyers M/s Ssekyewa, Matovu & Co. Advocates, Ms Namutaawe states that she was rightly declared by the Electoral Commission as the duly-elected Masaka District Woman Member of Parliament.
