Uganda, April 23 -- Makerere University's newly-elected guild president Ms Gracious Kadondi has written to the vice chancellor Barnabas Nawangwe, asking for a waiver on the five per cent surcharge and extension for late registration.

This follows a notice reminding all students by the academic registrar Prof Buyinza Mukadasi, on compliance with the institution's fees policy particularly in preparation for the end of semester two for the academic year 2025/26, with examinations scheduled to commence on May 18, 2026."All students are required to pay 100 percent of their tuition and functional fees by the 12th week of the semester (May 5, 2026)," reads part of the letter dated April 20, 2026.
