Make a Uganda that serves all, not some
Uganda, May 13 -- President Museveni's inauguration yesterday, an event steeped in tradition, had various moments, some good, none great, some terrible.
Besides the elaborate military parade, visuals were played to demonstrate the measurable strides that Mr Museveni has made across a four-decade stretch insofar as poverty alleviation is concerned. One video, attesting to value addition endeavours in the gold mining sector at the Wagagai Gold Mine, failed to play.
Failure, Uganda's ninth president insisted yesterday, is something he will not countenance after winning his seventh elective term. The declaration that his latest elective term will be typified by "no sleep and no corruption" is a bold promise that Ugandans should ideally take...
