Uganda, April 30 -- Kitara made up ground on leaders Vipers to emerge as the nearest challengers to their crown after a 2-0 defeat of SC Villa at the Butema Ground in Hoima on Thursday evening.

The result saw Kitara move to 54 points, five behind Vipers with four games left.

It meanwhile also put their opponents Villa realistically out contention for this season's title with the Jogoos falling to fourth place and eight points off the pace.

Patrick Kaddu and Yunus Sibira got the goals for Kitara who weathered an early Villa storm orchestrated by Partick Kakande to wrestle the game away from the visitors.
