KAPATU rejects NCHE claims, insists Karamoja university project on track
Uganda, April 13 -- An official from the Karamoja Peace and Technology University (KAPATU) project has dismissed claims by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) that its establishment has stalled, insisting the project is progressing in line with legal and accreditation requirements.
The rebuttal follows remarks by NCHE Executive Director Mary Okwakol, who told Parliament's Sectoral Committee on Education last week that the project had failed to meet accreditation guidelines.
"The KAPATU Project had stalled after failing to meet accreditation guidelines, because the proposed governance structures fall short of the legal requirements set by the council," she said.
