Uganda, April 7 -- Jinja City is in mourning following the sudden death of its Principal Revenue Collection Supervisor, Alex Kiwanuka, who died on Easter Sunday aged 50.
Kiwanuka passed away at Nile International Hospital at around 4 p.m. following a reported cardiac arrest, leaving behind seven children.
City Mayor Alton Peter Kasolo described the loss as "deeply unfortunate," saying the deceased had been instrumental in strengthening local revenue collection.
"He was a man who worked hard to ensure results," Kasolo said, adding: "Most of our local government revenue comes from local sources, not government grants or donor funding, and Alex was exceptional in ensuring we met our targets."
