Uganda, April 15 -- The ongoing community hearing of the Ggaba daycare murder case at Ggaba Community Church grounds was on Wednesday afternoon temporarily halted for 30 minutes to allow the prime suspect, Christopher Okello Onyum, to be assessed by his doctor.

The break was requested by one of the defence lawyers, Ms Sarah Awelo, who informed presiding High Court Judge Alice Komuhangi Khaukha that her client was emotionally unwell and required urgent medical attention.

"Our client (Okello) is not emotionally well. We pray for a short break such that the doctor sees him," counsel Awelo told court.

Justice Komuhangi went on and granted the request and ordered a 30-minute break.
