Uganda, May 1 -- The Minister of Works and Transport Gen Edward Katumba-Wamala has summoned car dealers, clearing agents, and the number plate manufacturer Intelligent Transport Monitoring System (ITMS), as well as the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), to a joint meeting aimed at addressing critical issues related to motor vehicle registration.
The meeting follows discussions held on April 13, 2026 between the Delight Car Dealers Association and the Ministry, during which used car dealers raised a number of concerns requiring attention to streamline vehicle registration processes in the country.
Ahead of the meeting, stakeholders say significant progress in on-the-ground operations was reported.
