Uganda, April 16 -- Our mini spot checks across 17 fuel stations in and around Kampala on Wednesday show wide pump price variations, with diesel ranging from Shs5,049 to 5,350 per litre and petrol from Shs5,090 to 5,400 per litre.

While Kampala's pump prices remain relatively high for local motorists, they are still among the lowest compared to other East African Community member states.

This comes as the Government of Kenya on Wednesday moved to reduce VAT on fuel, a policy shift that is expected to ease regional supply pressure and stabilise import costs along the Mombasa-Kampala corridor.
