Uganda, May 4 -- The family of a detained Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) officer has petitioned the High Court, seeking orders to compel the military to produce him in court after more than a year of uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts.
Capt Amis Ainebyona, through his father-in-law, Joseph Ddungu Ssempijja, has filed a habeas corpus application, arguing that the officer has been held for an extended period without lawful justification and outside the oversight of any competent court.
