Uganda, May 8 -- Universities across Uganda are producing increasing volumes of academic research, but education experts warn that much of it is failing to influence public policy, industry practices, or community development.

The concern was raised during Lira University's research dissemination conference held on Thursday, where scholars and higher education officials called for a shift towards more practical, community-centred research.

Lira University alone produced 21 research projects between 2023 and 2024, reflecting a broader rise in academic output across higher institutions of learning.
