Uganda, May 3 -- Arua City is set to benefit from funding support worth USD900,000 to support services that have been stressed by the influx of urban refugees in the area.
The support, a courtesy of the European Union, will last five years and will be targeted towards education, health and physical infrastructures such as roads and water sources.
The Sustainable Urban Integration of Displacement Affected Communities (SUIDAC), under the EU through Cities Alliance, has so far embarked on remodelling of a science laboratory at Arua Public Secondary School with over 3,000 students, worth Shs 197 million.
Arua City had lagged in responding to refugee situations and was constrained by limited resources.
