Digital bridge: New AI platform connects Ugandan engineers to Japanese job market
Uganda, May 13 -- For 27-year-old Brian Ssekandi, a software developer based in Lira, the past year has been a grueling cycle of more than 80 job applications and zero offers. However, a message on his phone last week offered a glimpse of a breakthrough.
A new AI-powered platform has officially entered its pilot phase, designed to allow Ugandan engineers to work directly for Japanese companies. Most importantly for Ssekandi, the technology ensures that language is no longer a barrier to entry."I've been doing freelance work here and there, but nothing stable," Ssekandi says. "If this works, it means I can use my skills to earn from Japan without leaving my family."
