Uganda, April 22 -- Members of Civil Society Organisations and the NGO sector have advised Parliament to dismiss the proposed Protection of Sovereignty Bill, 2026 in its total entirety or else subject it to rigorous scrutiny.
They also want Parliament to carefully consider whether the legitimate objective of protecting Uganda's sovereignty can be achieved through more targeted and constitutionally compliant legislation.
On Wednesday, CSOs together with members of the NGO sector conducted a final consultative meeting on the Bill before making a submission to Parliament.
