Uganda, May 7 -- It was reported that on Monday morning this week, thugs broke into the heavily guarded Central Bank. Even without further detail, that revelation is shocking enough.

The Central Bank is not some common salon that thugs should even contemplate accessing. It is either a reflection of the shaky nature of our security or the brazen heights of criminality the country has attained.

If the halls of the Central Bank can be accessed by thugs who then dismantle and strut off with an assortment of equipment-seven laptops, CCTV server and more-supposedly to hawk it on the open market, then nowhere in the country is safe.
