Uganda, April 9 -- A couple and authorities in Kayunga District have put Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital under scrutiny following the mysterious disappearance of a newborn baby girl from the facility 10 months ago, with hospital officials pointing to possible negligence by the parents.

The case has sparked anger among residents and relatives, who say the matter has not been handled with the urgency it deserves, while also questioning the recent arrest of the parents after they reported the incident.

Kayunga District probation officer Collins Kafeero identified the couple as Ivan Sserumansi, 21, and his wife Zanula Namulondo, 20, residents of Kiteredde Village.
