Uganda, April 24 -- With pressure mounting worldwide over fuel shortages and rising costs, Uganda's oil sector is racing against time to deliver. At the Kingfisher oil field, over 99 percent of the Central Processing Facility is now complete, with wells now ready for production. Focus has now shifted to safety, with critical systems undergoing testing, as CNOOC Uganda Limited, together with its contractor CenerTech and partner Infiniti Line International, conduct a well control emergency drill. The exercise follows the successful completion of the first phase of the Kingfisher drilling campaign in February 2026, during which 18 wells were drilled across three well pads.
