Uganda, May 14 -- Religious leaders, corporate executives and cultural supporters have praised Buganda Kingdom prime minister (Katikkiro) Charles Peter Mayiga for what they described as transformative leadership, unity and development during his 13 years in office.

The remarks were made yesterday during celebrations held at his Butikkiro residence to mark his 13th anniversary as Katikkiro.

Speakers credited Mr Mayiga for strengthening the kingdom's institutions, championing development programmes and preserving Buganda's cultural heritage.
