Busoga praises ministers for supporting burials, improving infrastructures
Uganda, May 6 -- It's a common practice, especially in rural areas across the country, for locals to call their leaders, including Members of Parliament, to offer support during moments of joy and sorrow.
Such include financial support for burial expenses, medical bills, transporting bodies, and seats and tents, among others.
Those who positively offer support are praised and, in most cases, promised votes in exchange for their good deeds and kindness.
It is a common sight whereby several ambulances, chairs, tents, basins, books, and even dresses are labelled with the respective names of area MPs, to confirm that indeed they offered the items to either a group or through their offices.
