Uganda, April 26 -- Leaders in Bugisu sub-region are calling for the inclusion of Chinese language teaching in schools to solve the language barrier between Chinese investors and locals.

The leaders made the remarks during the celebrations to mark 2026 International Chinese Language Day, which took place at Uganda-Sino Mbale Industrial Park in Mbale City on Saturday. It was hosted by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and co-organised by the Confucius Institute at Makerere University and Mbale Sino Industrial Park.
